Is Guarda a safe wallet?
Should you be using the Guarda wallet for storing cryptocurrencies?
Let’s find an answer to all these in this detailed review of Guarda’s wallet.
Guarda wallet is a multi-cryptocurrency wallet that offers a non-custodial wallet to its users. Guarda wallet is available for desktop, mobile, web and a chrome extension is available. They register the company in Estonia (Europe).
As a multi-currency wallet, Guarda supports an enormous variety of assets (over 40 major blockchains and over 10,000 tokens at the moment).
Starting from the basics like Bitcoin and Ethereum, the development team tamed and integrated even challenging coins like Monero, Verge and Zcash.
Guarda is also one of the few wallets that also supports the popular BEP2 tokens (Binance chain). Guarda became a pioneer of ZEC Shielded technology by implementing the legendary anonymous transactions in its open-source Android wallet.
The service also provides its users with multiple handy instruments for managing digital assets: built-in crypto exchange, cryptocurrency purchase for fiat money, and Guarda Token Generator are probably, the most remarkable features. We will look into all of this in the upcoming section.

Features of Guarda wallet:
- Multi-platform cryptocurrency wallet
- Inbuilt currency exchange powered by Change now.
- Lightweight
- User-friendly and easy to use on all platforms.
- Interact with any DApp using the Guarda Chrome extension.
Multi-OS wallet:
Guarda wallet is available for all major operating system, including desktop and mobile (Android and iOS). Being highly secure cryptocurrency storage, it’s perfect for day to day usage.
Wide range of supported cryptocurrencies:
As mentioned earlier, Guarda support over 40+ blockchains and over 10K tokens. Chances are, your majority of coins could be stored on Guarda wallet.
Backup wallet or backup coin private key:
You can take the backup of the Guarda wallet with the backup and keys section. The backup file is downloaded in TXT format, and you would need the backup file and password (Created at the time of sign up) to restore from backup. Also, whenever you add a new token, you must take a backup again. The Guarda will remind you automatically by showing a red dot next to the logo when you use a new token on the Guarda wallet.
In the past, you may have instances to claim the forked coin using Coin’s private key. Using Guarda, you can export the private key of individual coin and import it to claim forked coins.
Also, if you ever wish to change your wallet, you can use the private key to restore from the old wallet to the Guarda wallet within seconds.
Your Key, your wallet:
Guarda is a non-custodial wallet, which means they never store your private keys, and you own all your coins. This is one essential thing to keep in mind when using any crypto wallet. Since private keys and backups are generated on the user’s device and encrypted with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). They are never sent over the Internet. That means you have complete ownership of the wallet.
Integration with Ledger:
Guarda offers integration with the popular Ledger wallet (Hardware wallet), and it works seamlessly on Guarda Web Wallet in Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Opera. This feature lets you enjoy the friendly, intuitive interface of Guarda and enterprise-level security of Ledger devices.
Buy coins:
Guarda offers a service to buy Coins directly from the wallet. Depending upon your location, you can buy using a credit card or even bank transfer. Bank transfer is powered by Coinify and credit card purchases are powered by Simplexcc.
In the majority of scenarios, there is no need for AML/KYC procedures.
However, when exchanging coins, Changenow has an automated risk management system that flags transactions and users may be asked to complete KYC. This is more of the third-party requirement, and it would be good to be ready with the KYC requirements when exchanging coins using Change now service via Guarda or any other similar services.
Guarda fees:
Guarda charges standard transaction fees for sending cryptos. There is no commission at the top of it, and practically sending cryptos via Guarda (except miner fees) is free.
Conclusion: Guarda review
Guarda has been around for a while, and they are constantly contributing and innovating to make crypto accessible to everyone. They are also at the forefront of adding new coins and integrating with new blockchains. This is what makes Guarda a solid choice for a wallet, that is available for desktop, mobile, and web.
Being a non-custodial wallet, Guarda ensures that they focus on innovating and let the users be the real owner of the coin. The Ledger integration with the web wallet is commendable, and I look forward to having the integration available for Guarda apps in the future. Overall, Guarda is an excellent choice for day to day crypto wallet.
