Looking for the best crypto screener apps?

As the crypto industry is growing, there is a strong need for excellent tools and apps that would help us quickly scan crypto assets based on our preset criteria. Many apps in the market are idle for part-time speculators or full-time crypto analysts, which helps them quickly analyze crypto assets.

As a crypto enthusiast, I keep researching and using cutting-edge crypto analysis tools that help cut the noise and help me see the next upcoming big project. Crypto screeners are one category of such analysis tools that you should have in your arsenal.

What are Crypto screeners?

Crypto screeners assist investors and traders to quickly sort through thousands of crypto assets to find those that fit their trading or investing methodologies. These tools are typically free to use and offered by many sites, such as Coinmarketcap, and CoinGecko. At the same time, advanced screener apps, such as Altfins or Dyor.net, are available for a subscription fee.

An active trader can use the crypto screeners’ tools to identify the possibility of set-ups for trading opportunities. The crypto screeners let the investors and users analyze several cryptos quickly. This will help you identify and eliminate cryptos that are not meeting your goals.

Crypto screeners will help you get all the important data that helps you determine if you sell or HODL your crypto asset. Not only that, many of these screener tools let you scan the entire crypto assets based on parameters such as various indicators, draws the supports and resistance line, sort tokens based on category (DeFi, NFT), price change, growing TVL, and so on.

Whatever stage of your cryptocurrency journey you are in, you should know that these crypto screener tools exist, and you should use them for your growth in this crypto-verse.

6 Must-Have Crypto Screener Apps To Save Your Time :

1. Altfins – Create Unlimited Screener for Trading

If you are a trader of any level and looking for a crypto scanner that will help in making a better trading decisions, look no further than Altfins.

At first glance, I was not happy with the interface, but as I started using the platform, I found it to be the best crypto scanner for traders and often investors too.

Here is how I’m using Altfins,

I created a watchlist of Coins and tokens that I usually watch and trade.

Now, on this page I could add any data such as RSI, Golden crossover, momentum and other metrics that are important to me.

But, Altfins take this to the next level with the feature called “Chart patterns”.

All I need to do is, select my manually created watchlist, and it will scan all the coins to suggest any chart patterns that is forming in any of those coins. (See screenshot below)

Again, this is an indication only but a time-saving indicator. From here on, one can analyze further to get into a highly profitable trade.

Altfins is one of those tools that will surprise you, and you might feel; why I have yet to discover it earlier. For the premium member, Altfins also offers educational content on trading and how to use the Altfins platform for profitable trading.

The User interface could be a little better, but as this platform sees more traction, the founders will do the needful to improve the UI and UX. They also have a mobile app that complements some of the features.

I will probably do a detailed review in the coming days, but for now, if you are looking for a crypto scanner to help you find profitable trades within minutes, Altfins is something I highly recommend.

Tip: Spend 1-2 hours learning how to use Altfins, and then only you will be able to make the most out of it.

2. Dyor.net – Unconventional Screener

DYOR.net seems like another crypto screener for traders that many of you would like. At the time of writing, the DYOR platform supports projects listed on Binance, KuCoin, and Gate.io.

With this tool, you can find profitable trading opportunities on the above-listed exchanges or use their “Cointracker” feature to make a custom list of tokens you want to track.

You can set the bullish and bearish event at various timeframes and get telegram notifications when that event happens.

The tool offers 6 hours of free trial for their pro plan, which you should utilize when exploring a new tool and have time for trading.

3. CoinMarketCap – Best free Crypto Screener App

This is the first tool that I would recommend to any newbie or even experienced users to start using. CoinMarketcap is one of the first few projects that helped the entire industry to screen their favourite crypto assets.

After the recent acquisition by the Binance exchange, CoinMarketCap has grown significantly in terms of features, and is one of the best cryptocurrency screeners out there.

You can use this tool with or without an account, though you will find more value when you create a free account on CoinMarketCap.

Some of the notable features of CoinMarketCap are:

  • Portfolio management
  • Watchlist
  • Mobile syncing
  • Find tokens/coins based on categories
  • Dark mode

Overall CoinMarketCap is one of the best free screener tools for crypto out there.

4. CoinGecko – Most Loved Crypto Screener Tool

CoinGecko is another widely popular crypto screener out there, and it is also one of the top CoinMarketCap alternatives. The tool has been around for many years, and it is free to use at the time of writing.

CoinGecko curates and provides data from all the categories of Cryptocurrencies, and you can filter coins based on multiple factors such as categories, hashing algorithms, platforms, and many more.

One best way to use CoinGecko is by creating a free account, and adding all your coins to the portfolio. This way, you can quickly find all important information related to coins in your portfolio.

Another advantage of CoinGecko is, you will find all new tokens which are somehow hard to find on other screeners.

5. Messari Crypto Screener – Premium Screener

A New York based company, that provides institutional-grade data, and analysis and offers a crypto screener tool. This tool is recommended for serious investors, and in my limited usage time, I found it a complete value for money. They do have a free plan which gives you access to one free screener, and pro account let you enjoy reading about their well-researched analysis.

This tool is being used by crypto research analysts, and one feature that might excite you is, you could see the portfolio of other crypto investors, which is curated by the Messari team.

This tool offers many advanced features, and for serious crypto users, I highly recommend you to try Messari. At the time of writing, they offer 14 days trial, which is good enough for you to judge the suitability of this tool.

6. DappRadar – DeFi Crypto Screener

DappRadar is a directory of top decentralized app and is also an excellent screener for Defi space. They have also added screeners for collectibles (NFT’s), which might interest many of you.

Like other apps in this list, this one also provides an account registration feature and lets you manage your watchlist and portfolio.

Note: DefiPulse is another good alternative to DappRadar.

Apart from these crypto screeners, TradingView also offers screener features, which IMO is idle for all the traders out there.

What are the benefits of a Crypto scanner?

There are several benefits to using a crypto scanner, including:

  1. Real-time market data: Crypto scanners provide real-time information on the prices, trading volumes, and price movements of different cryptocurrencies, which can help traders and investors make more informed decisions.
  2. Alerts and notifications: Many crypto scanners allow users to set alerts and notifications for specific price levels or market movements, which can help traders and investors quickly identify potential trading opportunities.
  3. Portfolio tracking: Some crypto scanners have portfolio tracking features that allow users to track their current holdings and their performance over time, which can help them make more informed decisions about buying and selling cryptocurrencies.
  4. Efficient monitoring: Crypto scanners allow you to monitor multiple currencies and exchanges and set alerts on specific movements and technical indicators, reducing the time and effort required to keep track of the market. For example, you can set an alert to be notified when the RSI <30, and this will help you take instant action and make profits.
  5. Make faster decisions: By providing real-time data and alerts, crypto scanners can increase the chances of success of a trading strategy by providing the trader with more information and allowing them to make faster decisions.

It’s important to note that crypto scanners should be used as a complementary tool for your analysis, not as a sole indicator for your trading decisions.
