So you want to buy Bitcoin with PayPal

Well, if that’s what you want; you are at the right place & I’m going to share all possible methods that you can use right now to purchase Bitcoins using PayPal.

First thing first; there is no direct way to buy Bitcoins using PayPal as Bitcoins transactions are irreversible. However, there are certain indirect ways that are used by users around the globe to purchase bitcoins using PayPal money.

Update: On popular request, I have also listed a website that also let you convert Bitcoin into PayPal.

In this tutorial, I have highlighted some of the best ways by which Bitcoins can be purchased using PayPal.

Let’s dive right in

Here are all the listed sites from where you can Purchase Bitcoins via PayPal:

  1. Localbitcoins (Most popular way)
  2. PaxFul ( Offers from many countries)
  3. CoinBase (Available in a few countries)
  4. Wirexapp (The best way & at the market rate and only for Europe and UK users)

How to buy Bitcoin with PayPal account

1. Localbitcoins

This is another marketplace where you can purchase Bitcoin using PayPal. However, you need to be careful while picking the seller. However, this is best-known way to purchase Bitcoins using your PayPal account.

Click on the trader name to check his feedback & trade volume. This will give you a good idea of how credible the seller is. In below screenshot you can see an example of a credible seller:

In the past I have used Localbitcoins to purchase Bitcoins using cash & it worked fine for me. Again, you need to be smart & careful when making a purchase using Localbitcoins.

2. Coinbase (PayPal in Europe and U.S.A.)

Coinbase is a popular website that accepts PayPal as a payment method to purchase Bitcoin. This feature is available in the U.S.A, all major European country and in the U.K.

The interface of Coinbase is easy to use and is beginner-friendly. Even if it’s your first time buying Bitcoin using PayPal, you will have no problem using the CoinBase.

3. Paxful

Paxful

This is another popular way for users like you & me to purchase Bitcoins using PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, Gift cards to name a few. This one is similar to Localbitcoins (Above) but with cleaner UI. Paxful is listing and escrow service for sellers to trade on.

You need a verified USA Paypal account. PayPal awards verified accounts only if you link your bank, debit card and upload an ID. Vendors will also ask for ID for themselves before accepting your PayPal.

4. Buy Bitcoins using PayPal & WirexApp:

Wirexapp is one of the best ways for anyone who is looking to buy Bitcoins using PayPal on a consistent basis. This method would take 1-2 days for the first time & after that, it’s all instant.

Just follow the steps mentioned in this tutorial & then you will be able to use your PayPal funds to Buy Bitcoins. This method can be used for PayPal accounts within these countries:

Bahamas, Bahrain, Botswana*, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Gibraltar, Honduras*, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Moldova, Morocco, Mozambique*, Oman, Philippines, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal*, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay

  • To get started, you need a WirexApp account. Create an account here
  • When you create and verify your account, you get a free virtual visa card. (You can also order Physical visa card but for now, let’s focus on the fastest method).
  • To use this method you need to add a small amount ($3) to your virtual visa card from Wirexapp. This is important to add the card to your PayPal account.
  • Now, login to your PayPal account, Click on Money & Click on Add a card
Paypal Money

Click on Add a new card

Add a new card

Now here enter the virtual debit card detail you got from Wirexapp.

Add Debit or Credit Card

PayPal will ask you to confirm the new card. Click ‘Confirm my card’ and PayPal will begin a series of transactions to verify your card.  This is where your balance of $3 will be used (This will be reversed later). This is a standard practice by PayPal that they use to verify an account. It will then ask you to enter a PayPal Code.

Debit and Credit Cards

Now login to your Wirexapp account & under transaction you will find the confirmation code to verify your debit card.

Just confirm the code & you will see a success message like this.

Card Confirmation

Click on close & now you are all set to start purchasing Bitcoins using your PayPal money. Now all you need to do is, withdraw money from your PayPal account to linked Wirexapp debit card.

Withdraw Fund

Usually, this takes between 1-7 days for the fund to withdraw to your linked card. Once this is done, you can use Wirexapp interface to Purchase Bitcoins.

This has been one of the best ways for anyone who is looking to use their PayPal money for purchasing Bitcoins at market rate. All other methods usually cost you extra for Bitcoin purchases.

If you are in the countries listed above, use Wirexapp to get your first free virtual debit card (VISA powered) & use it to purchase Bitcoins using PayPal money.

  2. Hello Harsh,

Thanks for sharing this valuable post. But I think charges of these sites are little bit more than Zebpay/Unocoin.

Because can’t really write about Blockchain and Fintech on ShoutMeLoud. Different topics altogether. I believe Blockchain/Crypto will become a major thing in future and youngsters like you and me should know how to use it. So, here comes CoinSutra along with ShoutMeLoud. 🙂

  3. I as tired of the too many verification when buying or selling bitcoins. Now I buy from liviacoins.com and there is no verification needed.

  4. Hi, nice blog and i’m loving this site. I have a newbie question. I have bought some Ether and starting to invest in altcoins like NEO, Ripple, IOTA etc. I know I can buy them on exchanges such as Bittrex, Binance etc by sending some Ether or Bitcoins. My questions are:

    (1) How do I convert them back to fiat currency? I’d assume I need to convert alts into Ether or Bitcoins?
    (2) If so, isn’t my profits really determined by how much the alt coins I had appreciated against Ether or Bitcoin?
    (3) Does it mean any investment in Alts have to be better than that of either bitcoin or Ether for it to make investment sense?

    Thanks in advance

    1. 1) Convert it into BTC because BTC has the maximum liquidity for fiat pairs.
      2) Yes
      3) Strive to accumulate more on BTC and ETH percentage wise. For example you both something in 1000 Satoshi it is better to sell at more satoshi value. But many people do it in terms of USD so it depends on how you want to do it. profit margins can vary depending on various factors.

  5. Hello Harsh,
I created a wirex account but i can’t verify my adress while ordering the virtual card.
Inda isn’t listed there. So Which adress i should put ?

  6. Hello,
I can not add money to my virwox account with Paypal.
I have $ 100 in my account and I want to add $ 40 in virwox but when transferring to Paypal I receive the message “Card -XXXX rejected” while I make purchases on other sites.
What can be the problem ?

  7. I easily and safely sell or buy bitcoins at furcoins, my experience with them is fascinating. No fees as same is included in the exchange, no delay and no sign up!

    1. I need more evidence. Their website looks shitty and I am not fed-up of moderating furcoins comments. Give me something legit to verify.

  8. Thanks for the wonderful information guys. I have been trying LocalBitcoins but most of the time the transaction gets cancelled wherein the seller directly reverts back stating they don’t want to do the trade with me. Is it because am new to the system? How can I improve my reputation on site?
    Thanks
