  • Want to quickly sell Bitcoin in India?
  • Wondering how the whole process of Selling BTC in India works?
  • Which are the best and most trusted websites for Bitcoin selling in India?

Read on to learn everything about it, including many insider tips…

But before that…

India is one of the biggest Bitcoin arbitrage opportunities for Bitcoiners around the world.

With a price difference of more than $100, one can easily earn a fortune if they play their cards right. I have been doing this for the last two months & have sold Bitcoins with a total worth of $20k, netting around $3,000 – $4,000 in profit.

I will talk more about Bitcoin arbitrage for Indians in upcoming posts, but today I have an exclusive post for you. Today, you will learn about some of the best sites in India where you can sell Bitcoin and earn money.

Here is the updated list (Some of the sites are not listed below as they are launched recently and have great user experience)

  1. Binance (Via P2P which is not the best way, but works)
  2. KuCoin (They got license from IFU (Indian financial unit) just like Binance, and you can use P2P method for withdrawals)
  3. Wazirx (They got hacked in July 2024, and no more is recommended)
  4. Bitbns (Many users have reported issue with withdrawals on social media, and is no more recommended)
  5. Paxful (P2P)

So without further delay, let’s jump into this exclusive list of websites in India that let us sell Bitcoin.

Best Indian Websites to Sell Bitcoins: Convert BTC to INR

1. Wazirx

August 2024 update – WazirX is no longer recommended to be used at this moment.

2. P2P sell BTC to INR: Paxful

This is one of the most popular ways to sell Bitcoins in India. Rather than selling it on an exchange where the money will come to your bank account, rather sell it to someone in person.

Since Bitcoin is people’s money, you can help someone understand how it works and help them get started. However, don’t make a classic mistake of promising high returns, and do let others know about the risk associated with it.

If you have the bandwidth and time to do this, you can sell Bitcoins for cash and at the same time help others learn about this disrupting alternate financial method.

Bonus: Compare Bitcoin Buying/Selling Price From One Place

The Bitcoin scene in India & Asian countries is heating up. In the next couple of years, Bitcoin is going to be very exciting for everyone who is interested in digital currency.

In upcoming posts, I will be sharing more guides & tutorials.

For now, I would love to hear about your experience of selling crypto and Bitcoin in India.

I have one confusion about bitcoin that , if we buy bitcoin from one website then can we sell that bitcoin to another website which gives higher price ?

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Jaydeep
      Yes, you can do that!

    Hello Harsh,

I recently came across a situation in Unocoin wallet, where my bitcoin purchase was reversed by them, stating that it was a server error. I purchased X number of BTC from them which got credited in my account right away, and within few hours they removed the BTCs from my wallet and cancelled the invoice. I now SERIOUSLY DOUBT their authenticity, since I know the fact that a bitcoin transaction cannot be reversed.
    What are your thoughts ?

    1. Harsh Agrawal

You are right on the part of Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. However, in this case, you are dealing with an exchange & they have control over your wallet. So they can do that. From now on, whenever you purchase bitcoins, transfer it to your own wallet like MyCelium or better buy a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S (This is what I use & recommend)

Is it true that most, if not all Bitcoin exchanges in India require you to be an Indian citizen in order to join their exchange and to buy and sell with them? Thank you

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Kite
Most of them. I believe few of them like WazirX now accepts users from outside India. Do try & let me know your experience.

  5. Chandan

Hello, thanks for the article. I wanted to know how to buy bitcoins in dollars for a resident indian, what requirements will be needed to be fullfilled. Like what kind of bank account, how to transfer funds, where to purchase the bitcoins, how much time does this process takes(sending dollars and buying bitcoins) and how much time it takes to get those bitcoins to our indian exchange. and finally how to do it legally?

    thanks in advance

  6. Satheesh

It is very informative article but biginners, please say about buying from one site and selling on other eg: Sell bits bought at unocoin, at zebpay

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Satheesh
You can do that but the problem is price fluctuates a lot. Even if you see an opportunity, the time Bitcoin transfer would take might take the opportunity away.

  7. Rajdeep Chakraborty

buying bitcoin from some foreign sites and selling that in India – what kind of tax will it attract.
can a trader be harassed by levying different kind of taxes later on.

    please advise.

How can I use Bitcoin to Remit money to India. Possibly in my NRE account

  9. A C Slath

For arbitrage in bitcoin is it necessary to open the account in each exchange offering best/lowest rates

    1. Sudhir Khatwani

Yeah, you may do so because some exchanges take time for approvals and arbitrage opportunity might slip by then.

  10. NIKET AGRAWAL

    Hello Harsh,

I see that there is a huge difference in BUY and SELL between Zebpay and Coinsecure. I am thinking to arbitrage i.e. but in Zebpay and sell on Coinsecure since coinsecure keeps very less difference (approx 1000-2000 Rs) between buy and sell where as Zebpay maintain difference of Rs 8000-11000 between but and sell. What do you suggest on this?

    Regards,
    Niket Agrawal

    1. Sudhir Khatwani

No perfect answer for this as arbitrage opportunities are getting less feasible and to do it right you need to do it at the right time.
And apart from this, you need to time the market and keep an eye on numerous exchanges all at once. Also, the time it takes to transfer BTC to an exchange can take long enough and result into lost arbitrage opportunity.

  11. Kaushik

    I am
Also concerned about the fema rules

  12. Adnan

    Hi Harsh & Sudhir

If Indian exchanges are banned how do we cash out to the bank? Do foreign exchanges like Bittrex supports Indian banks?

  13. Neal Deoagam

Comment: How to transfer btc from Unocoin or Zebpay to Paxful and Cash out with maximum profit to indian bank account?
