6 Best Qtum Wallets
1. Ledger Nano S (Hardware Wallet)
If you have been part of the crypto world for some time, Ledger Nano S hardware wallet needs no introduction.
But for the uninitiated, Ledger Nano S is a pioneer Bitcoin and altcoin hardware wallet operating in this space since 2015 from a manufacturing unit and HQ based in France. The good news is it supports more than 20 cryptocurrencies, including Qtum.
On Ledger Nano S, you can store your cryptos, including Qtum, in a hassle-free manner as it is an HD wallet that provides you the seed words for you to remain in total control of your funds.
Note: Securely note down and store your 24-seed word that Ledger Nano S spits at the time of set-up. If you lose this, all your cryptocurrencies will be lost forever.
Plus, its OLED screen and two side buttons make it very easy to navigate. Here is a video series on Ledger Nano S that will help you get started with Ledger Nano S.

Qtum is the first smart contract enabled cryptocurrency that has a mobile-first approach, something that can make them a unicorn in the long term.
Using this mobile wallet, one can set a PIN and take a backup of their private keys to secure their Qtum tokens.
Currently, Qtum core mobile wallet is available only for Android but it is expected to be available for iOS soon.

3. Guarda QTUM Wallet
While it’s two years in the crypto world, Guarda is becoming a favorite for many Crypto holders. If you’re a QTUM user, you’ll find Guarda as a good wallet for storing your tokens.
Guarda is an open-source crypto wallet with many options. It’s available on the web, mobile, and desktop. You can choose your preferred device, download the app and start using it to store your Qtum assets. There’s also a chrome version for traders to buy and sell crypto.
One great thing about this is that it has great crypto solutions. Crypto traders can buy Qtum or other coins inside the wallet with a credit card, swap crypto assets, and make trades.
Guarda supports many other coins, including BTC, BCH, and ERC20 tokens. It’s a non-custodial platform that does not store your personal details or your private keys. Your private keys are securely stored on your device, giving you full control of your assets.
We at Coinsutra admire the “import” feature that this wallet provides. Guarda allows you to import your QTUM and other coins from your old wallet with a few clicks. This feature is useful for traders who want to change wallets but find it hard to move their private keys.
Guarda is a great choice for any trader looking for an all-in-one crypto solution.

4. Qtum Wallet (Web Wallet)
The Qtum dev team has developed a free web version of Qtum wallet for the browser lovers.
The wallet is designed very well and I have been using it for a while. I must say it is quite useful to store a small number of Qtum tokens here.
Creating a new wallet is quite easy as it only requires you to backup your private keys in a text file. Another way to generate a wallet is from a Mnemonic phrase (recommended).
It is a self-hosted wallet where the owner controls the Qtum funds, but needless to say, one needs to be aware of the phishing scams and should always follow the basic online security measures while using a web wallet.
Lastly, the interesting thing is that one can connect their Ledger Nano S also with this web wallet to access their Qtum coins in Ledger.
- Supported Operating System: Windows, Mac, Linux

- Private Keys/Seed: Controlled by owner

5. Qtum Electrum (Desktop Wallet)
I think by now you get it that there are quite a few options for storing the Qtum cryptocurrency.
There is one option which is ignored despite being highly secure and that’s probably because many don’t know about it in detail.
Qtum Electrum is the fork of the original Bitcoin wallet, Electrum. It allows you to back up your wallet via a mnemonic seed phrase, like a true HD wallet. Also, it is a light wallet as it doesn’t require you to download the full node of Qtum.

Plus, you get security features like PIN code and seed word recovery features inbuilt into the Bitpie Qtum wallet.

Qtum Core is their official full node client/wallet that lets you manage Qtum and also allows you to store, send and receive your Qtum coins.
It is a full node client, which means you are required to download the whole blockchain to be able to use this wallet. This will take up a decent amount of hard disk space.
Also, one can write and deploy DApps and smart contracts on Qtum blockchain by using this wallet.
Currently, it is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
- Supported Operating System: Windows, Mac, Linux
- In-built Exchange: No
- Private Keys/Seed: Controlled by owner
- Cost: Free
- Segwit Enabled: Yes

Conclusion: Top Qtum crypto Wallets
It is always good to use multiple wallets for the same cryptocurrency if you have a significant amount of it. This way you can decide, based on your requirement and security point of view, as to how much Qtum you want to keep in a particular wallet.
For example, if you are a developer, you need to keep some Qtum in Qtum Core full node client and if you are a HODLer of Qtum then Qtum Electrum or Ledger Nano S should be good for you.
This is just an example and not an investment advice from CoinSutra.
Now you tell us: Are you invested in Qtum? If yes, where are you storing your Qtum cryptocurrency? Have I missed any quality Qtum wallet? Let us know in the comment section below.

Hi Sudhir, really like this article…thanks!
Do you have any thoughts on the recent Monero forks/airdrops into 5 other coins and how to claim them all? It all seems so confusing and was hoping you could make it simple
Have a great day 🙂
