Looking for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment gateway?

Before I share the best bitcoin payment processors, you must answer two simple questions.

Q: Are you running any online or offline business?

A: Yes

Q: Are you currently accepting Bitcoin as payment for your services or products?

A: No

If the above two situations sound familiar, you must start accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment.

For the uninitiated, Bitcoin is the “currency of internet” that is seeing a fast adoption rate worldwide.

Bitcoin is a groundbreaking invention of computer science led by Satoshi Nakamoto, which lets merchants accept payments 365/24/7 from anywhere across the globe.

If you don’t know about this revolutionary digital money, this article is for you.

What is Bitcoin?

Merchants who are running an online business on WordPress or Shopify or similar online platforms can now start accepting Bitcoin. However, it is not limited to online businesses.

For this, you must know about Bitcoin payment gateways for merchants that help you or your business accept bitcoin as payment.

This article explores top Bitcoin payment gateways that make it easier for you to accept Bitcoin.

Top 9 Crypto Payment Gateways For Merchants

1. CoinGate

CoinGate allows your business to accept Bitcoin and other crypto payments. You can instantly convert these into fiat currencies and receive payouts in EUR, USD, or BTC.

It provides a wide range of solutions for various types of business needs like plugins for E-commerce, APIs, and point of sale applications with payment buttons for different platforms such as web, Android, and iOS. It also supports Crypto payments with ShapeShift integration.

2. NOWPayments

NOWPayments is gaining global popularity as a solution to accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and 100+ cryptos on your website, store, and social media accounts. You can integrate this crypto payment gateway easily using free their plugins.

At the time of writing this article, they support all major CMS and E-commerce websites such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, Zencart, OpenCart, and WHMCS. You can also generate crypto invoices and get paid from your freelancing job clients. The pricing of NOWPayments is based on the volume your store will carry. The higher the volume, the lower the fees.

The chart below shows the updated pricing for NOWPayments crypto payment gateway.

3. Coinbase Commerce

Coinbase is one of the world’s biggest Bitcoin exchanges. Apart from trading Bitcoin on Coinbase, you can also use it for accepting Bitcoin payments for your business.

Coinbase has a merchant app for businesses where you can accept payments in Bitcoin and instantly convert it into fiat to save yourself from price volatility. A variety of options are available for both offline and online businesses to start accepting Bitcoin via Coinbase merchant solutions.

Some of these are:

Currently, Coinbase is only available in limited countries. So, don’t forget to check your country code on this list before choosing Coinbase as a cryptocurrency payment processor. Also, check out the tutorial on CoinBase Commerce + WooCommerce Integration.

4. SpectroCoin

SpectroCoin is another Bitcoin payment gateway for merchants based out of Europe. They have a decent customer base and provide a variety of options for businesses.

It aims to create alternative payment options for customers and businesses worldwide with its ready-to-use solutions such as e-commerce plugins, Bitcoin payment processing APIs, and other payment integration tools.

Currently, SpectroCoin supports withdrawals in the listed countries with different fee schedules.

5. BitPay

Bitpay

BitPay is a leading US-based Bitcoin payment processor that has been around since the early days of Bitcoin (2011).

With the BitPay app, you can accept Bitcoin as payment for more than 40 integrations with popular e-commerce platforms and point-of-sale systems. Besides, you can convert it into 8 fiat currencies for bank deposits in over 38 countries.

You can also explore its multiple other features here.

6. Binance Pay

Binance Merchant by Binance Pay is the latest addition in 2021, by the popular Binance exchange. Unfortunately, this feature is not available for users from USA, UK, and Singapore. If you are from other countries, you can use Binance pay to accept payment on your e-commerce site.

One important thing to know, only users from Binance could pay for Binance Pay. Users can’t pay using their private wallet, if you are using Binance pay. This is one big limitation that you should be aware of.

At the time of writing, the system is in closed beta but you can get an account by sending an email to the support at [email protected]. Binance Pay is available for both peer-to-peer payments and merchant-based transactions.

Binance Pay’s Merchant APIs allow the processing of online payments or in-person payments using QR codes and give your customers a seamless payment experience.

If you wanna see Binance pay in action, then head over to Travala.com where they have integrated Binance pay. Looking at its utility, I believe Binance pay will become a great Paypal alternative.

I still feel it would take 2-3 months before we see more public integration of Binance pay and popular e-commerce sites such as Woo-commerce and Shopify. For now, let’s keep this on your radar.

7. CoinPayments

CoinPayments is the most popular cryptocurrency payment gateway that has been around since 2013. You can accept more than 1480+ cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Monero, and Ethereum. CoinPayments offer multiple pre-made shopping cart plugins that you can use for your merchant store. You can also code them to customize.

Update: It seems like Coinpayments require KYC for users paying from the USA, which is not great for business. If you are from the USA or looking to accept crypto payments from the USA, you should use something like Coinbase commerce.

Most of these plugins support the following stores:

  • Shopify
  • WooCommerce
  • Magento
  • Opencart
  • OsCommerce
  • WP eCommerce
  • Easy Digital downloads
  • Business directory plugin (WordPress)

CoinPayments offers a multi-cryptocurrency wallet that ensures the security of received currencies in the wallet. If you want to remain unaffected by market volatility, you can convert it into a stable coin.

8. B2BInPAY

B2BInPAY is another popular crypto payment processing tool that caters to both retail and enterprise users. Some of the notable features of B2BInPAY are:

  • Integration with WooCommerce, Magento, Prestashop
  • No recurring fees or hidden charges
  • Very low processing fee of 0.5%
  • Downloadable reports, real-time balance, and transaction history
  • Real-time exchange rates
  • Secure checkout
  • Sandbox available: a testing account can be requested

However, one thing you should know is that B2Binpay charges on-boarding and setup fees, which is not so common in crypto payment processors. However, for certain businesses, these compliance fees could be fruitful.

Nice list, some I knew and others I didn’t. Very useful for giving merchants some options and choice when choosing a payment processor for their store. You did however forget about CoinPayments.net who provide payment processing for bitcoin and over 125 altcoins as well!

    1. CoinSutra Team

Ok will check that out in some time.

With Paypal and Stripe as the ‘heavy weights’ in online payments, it’s interesting to see Stripe exiting Bitcoin: https://stripe.com/blog/ending-bitcoin-support
“we’ve seen the desire from our customers to accept Bitcoin decrease”; “Bitcoin has evolved to become better-suited to being an asset than being a means of exchange”; Stripe will “stop processing Bitcoin transactions on April 23, 2018”.

Is there an app that i can integrate into my e-commerce site that will automatically convert the FIAT currency into Bitcoin?

I run a site like Alibaba some of the clients are in Africa. I am looking for a solution to send them money cost-effectively. That said if i can integrate an app that will convert FIAT to Bitcoin, send Bitcoin to an exchange in their respective countries that would convert back to FIAT and send to their Bank account.
    Thanks

  6. David

We are creating an exchange but want to offer customers the option to change crypto to fiat back to their bank accounts, however, we are struggling to find a bank or service provider offering this merchant service.
    Any idea’s?

Not that easy but yet you can talk to Changelly and try implementing their APIs

  7. Which crypto gateway would be best for collecting payments from users that use an app. the app is smartphone and tablet based so no website only app. Would like to be able to collect payments from multiple cryptos not just bitcoin.
