If you own cryptocurrencies and an iOS device, I am sure you have struggled to find the right crypto wallets. However, these days developers have started supporting iOS devices too.

Now iOS device users no longer need to store their cryptos on exchanges and jeopardize the security of their cryptocurrencies.

Also, in any case, the habit of storing your cryptocurrencies on exchanges is strongly discouraged by CoinSutra. But we also understand that some crypto users are forced to do so because they don’t know about cryptocurrency wallets that are supported on iOS devices.

That’s why in this post I am going to share about popular Bitcoin and cryptocurrency wallets that can be used on iOS devices too.

Best Bitcoin wallets for iPhone

1. Trust Wallet

Trust wallet is a popular multi-currency wallet for iOS users. Along with Bitcoin, You can store Ethereum, Polkadot, Solana, Litecoin, XRP, Tron, BNB, and many other ERC20 tokens. Here in this wallet your private key is only stored locally and protected with many layers of security.

Watch the below video tutorial to learn about setting up the Trust wallet. You can also read my detailed review of Trust wallet here.

Trust wallet also acts as a Web3 Browser that allows you to interact with decentralized applications (DApp) directly from the app. Trust wallet is officially endorsed by Binance, which is the most popular crypto exchange, and they are constantly adding extra features.

2. Muun iPhone Bitcoin Wallet: (Also supports lightning payment)

Have you ever wondered about having a Bitcoin wallet that is linked to your email and a password? I always wished for such a wallet all the time, as it helps non-techies to get started with Bitcoin. My first such experience happened with Argent wallet which is a popular Ethereum wallet.

Muun is the recent edition in our list of best Bitcoin wallets for iOS that offers the feature to recover your wallet using an email address and a password. It is perfect for non-techies, who are more likely to lose their phone or not very keen of taking a backup of seed words. That’s not all, Muun is a non-custodial wallet that supports both Segwit and Legacy address. At the top of it, you can make lightning payments using Muun wallet, which makes it a perfect companion for day-to-day usage.

Here is a video demo of Muun from Bitrefill (Learn about Bitrefill here), which it shows the lightning payment feature of Muun:

Muun is built by a team of 12 people working from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Unlike other multi-crypto wallets, Muun is a Bitcoin-only wallet and is idle for beginner as well as advanced users.

3. Ledger Live app

Ledger Nano X is the most popular hardware wallet out there, and it offers Ledger live iOS app, which you can use to store Bitcoin. It is perhaps the most secure way of storing Bitcoin on an iPhone. Especially if you are looking for a wallet that acts as cold storage, look no further than the combination of Ledger Nano X and Ledger live.

Ledger Live is free to download on any iOS device, and you need a Ledger Nano X for it to work with your phone. Ledger Nano x can be ordered from their official site which costs close to $100. You can purchase using Bitcoin, PayPal, or a credit/debit card.

Some of the features of the Ledger Live app:

  • Buy/Sell or exchange Crypto
  • Crypto staking
  • Manage 27 coins and 1500+ tokens
  • High security as private key stays in the hardware device
  • Hierarchical-deterministic wallet

4. Edge Bitcoin iOS Wallet

Edge (Formerly known as Airbitz) is also a non-custodial hierarchical deterministic wallet just like other popular HD wallets and has a very good development community backing it since 2013.

Edge’s iOS version Bitcoin wallet is one of the oldest in the market and has pretty decent reviews. I have never used it but it always remains on my mobile as an emergency backup wallet that I can use anytime. Its security features are a step ahead of its peers. Some of its notable features are:

  • Seed words/backup phrase feature
  • PIN code feature
  • Restore wallet/keys
  • Import/sweep private keys
  • QR code support
  • Transaction fees estimation
  • Manually add ERC-20 tokens
  • Segwit support available for BTC & LTC

Note: This wallet is available for iPhones and iPad currently.

5. Copay

Copay

Copay is a product of BitPay, a long-time operating Bitcoin company in the cryptosphere.

Copay is a non-hosted HD wallet that is very easy to use and is under continuous development/maintenance of a strong development team.

There are some USPs of this wallet that allows one to store their Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash in a hassle-free way.

  • PIN code feature
  • Restore wallet/keys
  • Import/sweep private keys
  • QR code support

  • Email and push notifications
  • No segwit

Note: This wallet is a Bitcoin & Bitcoin Cash-only wallet available for iPhones and iPad currently.

6. Bitpie

Bitpie is another popular Bitcoin wallet that has started getting a lot of traction.

I noticed this wallet while recovering forks of Bitcoin like SBTC and Bitcoin Diamond. Ever since this wallet is on my Android device.

However, the good news is, it is an HD wallet that now supports multiple currencies on the iOS platform too.

While using Bitpie you have access to the following features:

  • Seed words/backup phrase feature
  • PIN code feature
  • Restore wallet/keys
  • Import/sweep private keys
  • QR code support

Note: It supports BTC, ETH, LTC, EOS, QTUM, and ZEC as of now on its Android version and BTC plus BCH on its iOS version.

7. Blockchain iPhone Bitcoin Wallet (# No Segwit Yet)

Blockchain wallet is the oldest cryptocurrency mobile wallet available in the market and luckily they have the iOS version for you.

It is, without a doubt, the world’s most popular mobile wallet for storing Bitcoin with more than 23 million users.

It is an HD wallet that comes with all the regular features that one might want in a self-hosted wallet. Some of the features that keep you in charge of your crypto funds all the time are:

  • Seed words/backup phrase feature
  • PIN code feature
  • Restore wallet/keys
  • Import/sweep private keys
  • QR code support
  • Transaction fees estimation
  • 20+ currency conversion rates
  • Supports 18 languages

Always remember: If you lose the seed words, you will lose your all bitcoins.

Note: It is a Bitcoin-only wallet and doesn’t support other currencies currently.

The Best Ways To Store Cryptos on iPhone/iPad

The best and easiest way to securely store your cryptocurrencies is to use a good wallet that you control on your device.

If you store your cryptos on exchanges, you stand at the risk of losing all at once. And as the cryptosphere has matured, even iOS users have a lot of options for crypto mobile wallets.

Also, whenever you use any of these iOS wallets, we suggest you follow the basic security practices always, some of which are:

  • Properly back up your seed key.
  • Always set a PIN on your mobile wallet.
  • Keep your PIN/password hard to guess or brute-force.
  • DO NOT store a large amount of crypto on mobile wallets.
